3 Ideas from Me

2 MIN READ

👋Howdy,

There are very few things we do every day. I'll list a few: breathing, blinking, eating, and so on. While there aren't many daily activities really, one crucial thing we often overlook is decision-making. We tend to underestimate the depth of our daily choices.

It's nature, isn't it? That's why I am thrilled to be writing about this week's edition, I am particularly enthusiastic about letting things happen "Natural". In case you're unaware, my curiosity is automatic and has led me to delve into a book called "Atomic Habits" by James Clear. Below are some key insights that have resonated with me, in simple words.

3 Ideas from Me

I.

"You can ignore your weaknesses, but you can't expect them to not impact you. The weakness of the coach shapes the players. The weakness of the teacher influences the students. The weakness of the parent Molds the child."

II.

"Don't wait to start writing until you have something to say. Start writing so you can find out what you have to say."

You first idea is rarely your best idea. It can take a lot of reps before you discover something worth keeping."

III.

"You will never find one answer to what makes you happy. There are many answers, and they change based on your current state.

People need to relax, but if all you do is sit on the beach, it gets old. People find meaning in work, but if all you do is work, it gets exhausting. People benefit from exercise, but if all you do is exercise, it gets unhealthy.

Happiness will always be fleeting because your needs change over time. The question is: what do you need right now?"

Painter Vincent Van Gogh on pushing yourself:

"I am always doing what I can't do yet in order to learn how to do it."

Writer and translator Estelle Gilson shares this translation of a rejection slip issued by a Chinese economic journal and, in the process, reveals the most incredible way to say no:

"We have read your manuscript with boundless delight. If we were to publish your paper, it would be impossible for us to publish any work of lower standard. And as it is unthinkable that in the next thousand years, we shall see its equal, we are, to our regret, compelled to return your divine composition and to beg you a thousand times to overlook our short sight and timidity."

1 Question for you

Unspoken boundaries often cause frustration. What is one area of your life where you would benefit from having clearer boundaries, but haven't voiced them yet?

But more on next week - I’ll speak to you then. ✌️

Anthropic dropped Claude Opus 4.7 this week, this model is built for long-running coding tasks, multi-file refactors and complex debugging sessions. From my early testing the model is quite different to what we are used too and it tends to ask lots of followup questions similar to what we've seen with GPT 5.4 and in comparison to Opus 4.6 we see fewer tool errors, and crucially the model now verifies its own outputs before reporting back. Cursor’s CEO called it “a meaningful jump in...

👋 The thing about AI right now is that most people are using it the same way they used Google in 2005. They type a question. They get an answer. They move on. That’s fine. But it’s leaving most of the value on the table. This week, I’m running a series called Get AI Native in 2026. Not a course and definitely not theory. Every issue, I’ll walk you through one or two things you can actually set up this week that will change how you work. Step by step. This issue is about two tools that...

After three years of hype, AI is finally meeting reality. The gap between a cool demo and a working business is closing fast. LLMs are writing production code, robots are landing on doorsteps, and autonomous taxis are actually turning a profit. We have moved from “what if” to “what is.” Here is the current state of the frontier: from the infrastructure of open source to the rise of physical world agents, and the inevitable shift toward AGI and monetization. the models Most people still...
